Filmustage supports scripts in any language and any format — including non-standard and custom layouts. You do not need to reformat your script before importing.

Languages

There are no language restrictions. You can import scripts written in English, Russian, Spanish, Arabic, Japanese, Hebrew, or any other language. The AI breakdown works across all supported languages.

Note: Processing time depends on script length and language. English and other widely supported languages typically process in a few minutes. Scripts in less common languages or with unusual layouts can take up to 20 minutes. You can leave the page during processing — Filmustage continues in the background and redirects you to the project when it's ready.

Script formats

Filmustage works with standard industry formatting as well as non-standard and custom layouts:

  • Standard format — INT/EXT scene headers with location and time of day, as used in Hollywood screenplays and Final Draft.

  • Non-standard format — custom headers, numbered scenes, stage plays, TV multi-camera scripts, documentary treatments, and other layouts that don't follow the conventional screenplay structure.

Supported file types

  • .pdf — PDF file

  • .fdx — Final Draft

Tip: If your script is in a Word document or Google Doc, export it as a PDF before importing into Filmustage.
