Export VFX Breakdown

How to export your VFX Breakdown as XLSX, JSON, or to ShotGrid

Updated today

You can export your VFX Breakdown directly from the VFX tab in three formats: XLSX, JSON, or directly to Autodesk ShotGrid.

Before you begin

Make sure your VFX Breakdown is already generated. If no analysis exists, run it first β€” click VFX AI Dude in the top-right corner of the VFX tab and ask AI Dude to analyze the script.

Procedure

To export the VFX Breakdown

  1. In the top navigation bar, click VFX.

  2. In the top-right corner, click Export.

  3. In the dropdown menu, select one of the following:

  • XLSX (Full Report) β€” downloads a full Excel file with all analyzed scenes, sequence IDs, descriptions, complexity categories, shot estimates, and cost data. Opens in Excel or Google Sheets.

  • JSON β€” downloads a structured JSON file with the full breakdown data. Useful for integrating VFX data into custom pipelines or tools.

  • ShotGrid β€” connects to Autodesk ShotGrid and exports the breakdown directly into your VFX production pipeline. See Export VFX Breakdown to ShotGrid for setup instructions.

Plans

Exporting the VFX Breakdown requires a Director's Cut plan.
