When your Filmustage subscription ends, nothing is deleted — your projects and data stay saved in your account. What changes is access. Manual projects stay fully open on the Free plan, while projects built with a full AI breakdown are locked until you resubscribe.
Note: Your work is safe. A lock only limits access to a project — it never edits or deletes your data. Full access returns the moment you resubscribe.
What stays open on the Free plan
You keep full access to:
Manual projects — projects without an AI breakdown. All non-AI tools and exports stay available.
The partial AI breakdown trial (about 20% of scenes) used to try AI features.
The demo project and its full AI breakdown.
Any project shared with you by someone with an active subscription.
What gets locked
Projects built with a full AI breakdown are paused until you renew. While a project is locked, Filmustage shows the first scene only and blurs the rest behind a lock screen. You cannot edit the project or export from it.
The lock screen confirms your work is safe and offers Unlock with a subscription.
When the lock takes effect
Cancelling does not lock your projects right away:
You keep full access until the end of your paid period.
When the subscription ends, full AI-breakdown projects lock. Manual projects stay open.
When you select Cancel Subscription, Filmustage warns you that your AI projects stay locked until you resubscribe.
How to unlock a project
To unlock your AI projects, resubscribe to a Director's Cut plan. Access, editing, and exports return immediately, with no data lost. See Change your subscription plan.
Note: Your Dude Coins are frozen for 30 days after your subscription ends, and are restored if you resubscribe within that window. See Plans, Dude Coins & Pricing.
