First, you need to create a project and upload your script to the app. Filmustage will automatically analyze your script and generate a breakdown.

There are two ways to break down a script:

You can upload your script in PDF or Final Draft’s FDX file formats.

Note: The App will upload your script to the secured cloud-based servers located in the US. Third parties, including Filmustage, have no access to view, edit, or share your script. You can learn more about Filmustage’s Privacy Policy and security methods and policies.

Procedure

Perform breakdown automatically (with AI)

  1. In the upper-left corner, select Create Project.

  2. In the Create Project window that appears, upload your script by doing one of the following:

    • Select the area with the Click or Drag a script to this area to upload (.pdf, .fdx) label, and then select the file from your device.

    • Drag a file from your device folder to the area with the Click or Drag a script to this area to upload (.pdf, .fdx) label.

The App will upload your script to the project.

  3. In the Project Name box, enter your project’s name.

By default, the App will fill in this box with the name of the file you’ve uploaded.

  4. Optional. Select Click to upload 📷 to upload your project’s cover image.

  5. Optional. In the Project Description box, enter your project’s description or notes for your convenience.

  6. Select Create Project, and then wait up to two minutes for the App to analyze your script, break it down, and perform tagging.

The App will redirect you to the project workplace, where you can work on your script breakdown.

Perform breakdown manually in a classic way (without AI)

  1. In the upper-left corner, select Create Project.

  2. In the Create Project window that appears, upload your script.

  3. In the bottom-left corner of the Create Project window, select the Manual script breakdown checkbox.

  4. Select Create Project, and then wait up to one minute for the App to analyze your script.

The app will take you to the Project Workplace, where you can manually tag script elements and refine your breakdown. Follow these instructions, along with other guidelines that will walk you through the tagging process, available in the Script tab section of this Help Center.
