You can create a detailed and efficient shooting schedule. Organize your schedule with ease, ensuring a smooth filming experience. This article will guide you through the process of creating a shooting schedule using an automatic 3-level sorting system and adding Auto Day Breaks.

Procedure

Step 1: Sort the scenes by 3-level sorting

3-level sorting allows you to organize your scenes with precision, making it easier to manage your shooting schedule. Follow the steps below to sort your scenes:

  1. Go to app.filmustage.com, and then open your project.

  2. On the ribbon, go to the Scheduling tab.

  3. In the upper-right corner, select Sort items.

  4. From the 1st Sort, the 2nd Sort, and the 3rd Sort lists, select the sorting parameters of your choice.

  5. Select Sort.

  6. Select Confirm Sort.

The App will sort your script scenes according to your selected parameters.

Caution The App will remove all day breaks you previously set (if any) and move your banners (if any) to the top of your shooting schedule.

Step 2: Add Auto Day Breaks

Auto Day Breaks help you define the boundaries between different shooting days automatically, allowing for a more realistic and manageable schedule. Here's how you can add Auto Day Breaks:

  1. Go to app.filmustage.com, and then open your project.

  2. On the ribbon, go to the Scheduling tab.

  3. In the upper-right corner, select Auto Day Breaks.

  4. From the Add Day Break Every list, select the number of pages per day that you plan to shoot.

  5. From the Select Start Date date picker, select the start day of your shooting process.

  6. Optional. Under Select Days Off, select days off of your choice. The DOOD (Day Out Of Days) reports will skip and won't count these days.

  7. Select Add Day Breaks.

  8. Select Confirm.

The App will automatically create your detailed shooting schedule and the DOOD (Day Out Of Days) reports.

Caution The App will remove all day breaks you previously set (if any) and replace them with new ones in your shooting schedule.

Step 3 (Optional): Reorder and move scenes manually

While 3-level sorting and Auto Day Breaks offer powerful tools for organizing your scenes automatically, the App also provides the flexibility to manually move your script scenes stips. This allows for nuanced adjustments and ensures your shooting schedule aligns perfectly with your vision.

  1. Go to app.filmustage.com, and then open your project.

  2. On the ribbon, go to the Scheduling tab.

  3. Drag and drop the scene you'd like to reorder. To select and move multiple scenes at once, hold down the Command key on a Mac or the Ctrl key on Windows while selecting the scenes.

You'll notice the scenes reordering as you move them. Your manual sorting preferences will now be reflected in your shooting schedule.

Tip Take a moment to review the entire shooting schedule, ensuring that it aligns with your production needs and preferences. Make any additional adjustments as needed.
