Budget templates let you reuse a category structure across multiple projects. You can save any existing budget as a template and apply it when setting up a new budget.
Save your budget as a template
In the top navigation ribbon, select the Budgeting tab.
Click the gear icon (⚙️) in the top right corner.
Select Save Template from the dropdown menu.
In the Save Template window, enter a name for the template in the Name field. The App pre-fills a name based on the current budget — you can change it.
Choose what to include in the template by selecting the relevant checkboxes:
Save Rates to this template — saves the values from the Rate column. If unchecked, the template will include only the structure (categories and positions) without any cost values.
Save Fringes to this template — saves the assigned fringes. If unchecked, fringes will not carry over to new budgets created from this template.
Save Deductions to this template — saves the assigned deductions. If unchecked, deductions will not carry over.
Click Save Template.
Note: Templates are saved with the budget structure they were created from (2-Level or 3-Level). A template saved from a 3-Level budget will only be available when setting up a new 3-Level budget, and vice versa.
Apply a saved template
Saved templates are available in Step 2 of the budget setup wizard, alongside the default Demo budget templates.
Open the Budgeting tab in a project with no budget yet.
In the wizard, select a budget structure (2-Level or 3-Level) in Step 1 and click Next →.
In Step 2, select your saved template from the available cards.
Click Generate.
Edit and delete templates
Click the gear icon (⚙️) in the Budgeting tab.
Select Edit Templates.
The Edit Templates window shows all available templates with the following columns: Name, Architecture (2-Level or 3-Level), Image, and Action.
Note: The default Demo budget templates provided by the App cannot be edited or deleted — the ✏️ and 🗑️ icons are inactive for these templates. Only templates you have saved yourself can be modified.
Rename a template
Click the pencil icon (✏️) next to the template you want to rename.
In the Edit Template window, enter a new name in the Name field.
Click Save Template.
Delete a template
Click the trash icon (🗑️) next to the template you want to delete.
Read the warning: "I understand and accept that this budget template will be fully removed so I will not be able to create any budget based on this template."
Click Delete Template.
Click Confirm Template Deletion to confirm.
Caution: Deleting a template is permanent and cannot be undone. Budgets already created from this template are not affected — they will continue to work normally. Similarly, if you delete a budget that was used to create a template, the template itself is not affected and remains available for future use.
