Fringes in Filmustage allow you to account for additional costs, such as taxes, union fees, or administrative charges. Editing fringes ensures your budget accurately reflects all relevant expenses. Follow these steps to create, edit, or manage fringes in your project.
Add a New Fringe
Navigate to the Budgeting tab in your project.
In the Edit Fringes window, click the Add New Fringe button.
Fill in the following fields in the dialog box:
Name: Enter a descriptive name for the fringe (e.g., “Tax” or “Guild Fees”).
Fringe Type: Select the type of fringe:
Flat: A fixed amount applied to the budget category.
Percent: A percentage of the category cost.
Amount/Percent: Specify the value for the fringe.
Click Save to add the fringe to the list.
Edit an Existing Fringe
Locate the fringe you want to edit in the Edit Fringes window.
Click the Edit (Pencil Icon) next to the fringe.
Modify the following details as needed:
Name
Fringe Type
Amount/Percent
Click Save to apply the changes.
Delete a Fringe
Click the Edit (Pencil Icon) next to the fringe.
In the Update Fringe dialog, click the Delete button at the bottom left.
Confirm the deletion. The fringe will be removed from the list.
Assign Fringes to Budget Categories
Return to the budget table.
Locate the category or line item where you want to apply the fringe.
Click Assign Fringes in the Apply Fringes column.
In the fringe selection list, check the box next to the fringe you want to apply.
