What is the Script tab

Explore the Script tab and its key features

Written by Egor Dubrovsky

The Script tab is the central workspace where your script is transformed into a fully tagged and categorized breakdown. It's where the pre-production process begins — powered by AI-assisted tools that identify key elements like cast, props, locations, vehicles, and more.

Here, you can edit, organize, and manage your script in real time, ensuring it's production-ready for scheduling, budgeting, and collaboration.

Filmustage provides dedicated toolsets within the Script tab, grouped into the following areas:

  • 🔖 Manage your tags
Create, edit, search, and delete tags and tag categories in your breakdown.

  • 🎬 Manage your script scenes
Control scene numbers, colors, breaks, and structure — all in one place.

  • ✏️ Edit your script text
Fix action, dialogue, and scene headings directly on the Script tab — no re-upload needed.

  • 🖍️ Annotate your script
Mark up the script with highlights, underlines, and strikethroughs, organized into layers.

  • 💬 Comment on the script
Discuss specific parts of the script with your team; reply, resolve, and reopen threads (Team Access).

  • 📝 Create a Full Script or Scene Synopsis
Generate synopses for individual scenes or your entire script with AI support.

  • 📤 Export script
Export your script (with tags) to PDF or Final Draft (.fdx) format.

Tip: VFX Breakdown has its own dedicated tab. In the top navigation bar, click VFX to access it. See VFX tab collection articles.
