AI Dude is your built-in AI assistant inside Filmustage.
You can open it anytime and ask for help with your screenplay, breakdown, scheduling, budgeting, or VFX.

AI Dude works directly with your project data. It can read scenes, reorganize schedules, generate insights, and run advanced workflows like VFX analysis — all from chat.

Open AI Dude

AI Dude is available in every project.

Procedure

  1. Go to app.filmustage.com and then open any of your projects.

  2. In the top-right corner, click AI Dude.

  3. Start typing your request.

The chat panel will open on the right side of the screen.

Note: AI Dude reads your project data automatically — you do not need to send or upload anything manually. After your script breakdown finishes, AI Dude indexes the project data. A progress bar appears in the AI Dude chat while indexing is in progress. Wait for the progress bar to disappear before sending requests.

What AI Dude can do

AI Dude understands your current project context. It automatically detects your screenplay, scenes, breakdown elements, and schedule.

Work with projects

  • List and find projects.

  • Filter projects by date, ownership, or team members.

  • Open specific screenplays.

Work with scenes

  • Show scenes by number, range, episode, or prefix.

  • Display dialogue, action, or full scene content.

  • Update scene text (dialogue, action, headings).

  • Change scene metadata (notes, synopsis, colors, heading).

  • Batch-update multiple scenes at once.

AI Dude uses the same editing logic as the App, so your formatting and structure stay intact.

Search breakdown elements

  • Find characters, props, vehicles, locations.

  • See where elements appear across scenes.

  • Show relationships between characters.

  • Filter by scene range or category.

AI Dude performs structured and semantic screenplay queries and returns exact scene references.

Explore your screenplay

  • Generate a synopsis with the level of detail you specify.

  • Analyze character arcs and relationships across scenes.

  • Find the most intense, emotional, or action-heavy scenes.

  • Explore themes, motifs, and narrative structure.

  • Pull any specific information from your script on demand.

AI Dude has full access to your entire screenplay and breakdown data. You can ask it any question about your script — it reads and understands the full content.

Manage scheduling

  • Show the current schedule.

  • Sort scenes using natural language instructions.

  • Move specific scenes to another day.

  • Auto-generate or redistribute shooting days.

  • Detect scheduling conflicts.

  • Analyze schedule statistics.

When sorting or reorganizing, AI Dude always shows a preview first. You confirm before changes are applied.

Run VFX analysis

AI Dude can launch a full VFX breakdown workflow.

  • Analyze the entire script or selected scenes.

  • Estimate shot counts and cost tiers.

  • Generate executive VFX summary and breakdown.

  • Apply budget or style preferences before analysis.

  • Stop the workflow anytime.

The VFX workflow runs in the background. You can continue working while it processes.

How AI Dude works

AI Dude:

  • Reads your active project automatically.

  • Uses structured project tools (not guesswork).

  • Applies changes only after confirmation when required.

  • Creates automatic backups before structural updates.

  • Works per project — each project has its own chat thread.

For complex operations like schedule reordering or VFX analysis, AI Dude uses preview and confirmation steps to ensure full control.

Good to know

  • AI Dude is currently in beta. Some features may be limited.

  • Direct screenplay text editing is temporarily restricted during beta.

  • You can close the panel anytime — the conversation stays saved.

  • Some operations may require confirmation before starting.
