When to use this

Use AI Dude when you need to:

  • Add or update scene notes.

  • Edit a scene synopsis.

  • Change a scene color.

  • Reset a scene to its original color.

  • Update page number or length.

  • Modify a scene heading.

Update notes or synopsis

You can edit metadata without affecting the scene content.

Example prompts

  • "Add a note to the chapel scene: crowd control required."

  • "Append this to the gala scene notes: string quartet, live musicians."

  • "Replace the synopsis of the hospital scene with a shorter executive summary."

  • "Write the synopsis for scene S1.2-1 in Spanish."

  • "Rewrite all scene synopses in French, keep them under 200 characters."

AI Dude updates only the requested metadata field.

AI Dude can write the synopsis in any language, not only the language of the script. Name the language in your request.

Tip: To generate synopses from scratch for one scene or for the whole script, see Generate scene synopses with AI Dude.

  • "Change the boardroom scene to INT. ZHOU INDUSTRIES - BOARDROOM - NIGHT."

  • "Make the chapel steps scene EXT. CHAPEL STEPS - NIGHT."

  • "Update the hospital hallway scene to INT. CEDARS-SINAI HOSPITAL - HALLWAY - NIGHT."

Filmustage refreshes the scene automatically after a heading update.

Update multiple scenes at once

AI Dude supports batch metadata updates.

Example prompts

  • "Add 'Night interior' to notes in all luxury house scenes."

  • "Change the color of all hospital scenes to blue."

  • "Clear synopsis in Episode 4."

  • "Add 'Press and photographers on set' to scenes involving cameras."

AI Dude applies updates only to the scenes you specify.

For large or ambiguous updates, it may request confirmation before applying changes.

How updates are applied

AI Dude:

  • Identifies scenes using scene numbers or context.

  • Applies structured metadata updates.

  • Preserves dialogue and action content.

  • Confirms when large or ambiguous changes are requested.

For heading changes, Filmustage refreshes the scene automatically.

AI Dude creates an automatic backup before major structural updates. Backups remain available for a limited time (up to 7 days).
