Use AI Dude to modify scene notes, synopsis, colors, length, page number, or heading directly from chat.

AI Dude updates structured scene metadata without changing the scene’s dialogue or action unless you explicitly request it.

When to use this

Use AI Dude when you need to:

  • Add or update scene notes.

  • Edit a scene synopsis.

  • Change a scene color.

  • Reset a scene to its original color.

  • Update page number or length.

  • Modify a scene heading.

  • Apply updates to multiple scenes at once.

Update notes or synopsis

You can edit metadata without affecting the scene content.

Example prompts (JOKER)

  • “Update the synopsis of the Murray show scene to reflect the live broadcast tension.”

  • “Add a note to the subway scene: stunt coordination required.”

  • “Append this to the talk show scene notes: blood squib practical effect.”

  • “Replace the synopsis of the riot scene with a shorter executive summary.”

AI Dude updates only the requested metadata field.

For example:

As a result, for scene #102 synopsis of the JOKER movie script you will get this:

Change scene color

You can set, clear, or reset a scene color.

Example prompts

  • “Change the subway shooting scene color to red.”

  • “Set the Murray show scene to purple.”

  • “Clear the color for the hospital scene.”

  • “Reset the Arkham scene to its original color.”

For example, in a JOKER movie script, you can ask to “Change the subway shooting scene color to red.”

The App automatically adjusts scene colors in the breakdown for readability.

Update the scene heading

You can modify the slugline directly.

Example prompts

  • “Change the Murray show scene to INT. TALK SHOW STUDIO – NIGHT.”

  • “Make the subway confrontation EXT. SUBWAY PLATFORM – NIGHT.”

  • “Update the hospital scene to INT. ARKHAM STATE HOSPITAL – DAY.”

The App refreshes the scene automatically after a heading update.

Update multiple scenes at once

AI Dude supports batch metadata updates.

Example prompts

  • “Add ‘Night exterior’ to notes in all subway scenes.”

  • “Change the color of all riot scenes to red.”

  • “Clear synopsis in scenes 10–15.”

  • “Add ‘Crowd control required’ to scenes involving riots.”

AI Dude applies updates only to the scenes you specify.

For large or ambiguous updates, it may request confirmation before applying changes.

How updates are applied

AI Dude:

  • Identifies scenes using scene numbers or context.

  • Applies structured metadata updates.

  • Preserves dialogue and action content.

  • Confirms when large or ambiguous changes are requested.

For heading changes, the App refreshes the scene automatically.

AI Dude creates an automatic backup before major structural updates. Backups remain available for a limited time (up to 7 days).
