AI Dude retrieves the correct scene from your active project and applies structured updates through the App.

When to use this
Use AI Dude when you need to:
Rewrite dialogue.
Add or remove action lines.
Replace a character name.
Change the scene heading.
Rewrite the entire scene based on feedback.
Some text-editing actions may be restricted during beta.
Edit dialogue or action
You can modify specific lines without rewriting the entire scene.
Coming soon: Dialogue and action line rewriting will be fully available after beta.

AI Dude retrieves the selected scene and updates only the specified lines while preserving scene number and metadata.
Change the scene heading
You can update the slugline directly.

Result
The App updates the scene heading and refreshes the scene view automatically.
Rewrite the entire scene
You can ask AI Dude to regenerate or restructure a scene.
Coming soon: Full-scene text regeneration will be enabled after beta.

Result
AI Dude replaces the scene content while keeping scene number and metadata intact.
How edits are applied
AI Dude:
Retrieves the correct scene using its internal ID.
Updates only the content you specify.
Preserves notes, synopsis, colors, and scene number.
Refreshes the scene automatically after a successful update.
If your instruction affects multiple scenes, AI Dude may request confirmation before applying changes.
AI Dude also creates an automatic backup before structural updates. Backups remain available for a limited time (up to 7 days).
Good to know
Use clear scene numbers when working with specific scenes.
Be explicit about what you want to change.
AI Dude will not remove content unless you clearly instruct it to do so.
If the request is ambiguous, AI Dude may ask for clarification.
During beta, some text-editing actions may be restricted.
