Track shot status on set

Track shot status, continuity notes, and takes per scene in Filmustage Sides — the status shows as a chip in the rail and feeds the next day's packet.

Written by Egor Dubrovsky

Record what happened to each scene during the shoot — status, continuity notes, and takes — directly in the Sides view.

Before you begin

Procedure

  1. Go to app.filmustage.com, and then open your project.

  2. On the ribbon, select Scheduling, then select Sides.

  3. In the left rail, select the shooting day, then select a scene.

  4. Make sure the mode is set to Edit, then open the Shot status tab.

  5. Under Status, select Not shot, Shot, Partial, Held, or Omitted.

  6. Enter Continuity notes for wardrobe, props, or blocking to match next time.

  7. To log a take, select Add take, then enter a take number and a comment.

Filmustage autosaves every change and shows the status as a colored chip next to the scene in the rail. A Partial scene carries its continuity into the next day's sides.

Tip: When you export the next day's packet, turn on Skip scenes already shot to leave out scenes marked Shot.
