Export your screenplay from the Script tab as a Final Draft (.fdx) file to continue editing in Final Draft or other compatible screenwriting software.
The export preserves screenplay structure and formatting so you can continue working with the script outside Filmustage.
Before you begin
Make sure your script is already uploaded to the project.
The export uses the current version of the screenplay from the Script tab.
Export the script
Go to app.filmustage.com, and open your project.
In the top navigation bar, click Script.
In the top-right corner, click Export.
From the dropdown menu, click FDX (Final Draft).
Filmustage downloads the screenplay as a .fdx file to your computer.
What the export includes
The exported Final Draft file preserves the screenplay structure.
The file includes:
Scene headings.
Action lines.
Character names.
Dialogue blocks.
Basic screenplay formatting.
This allows you to continue editing the script in Final Draft or other screenwriting software that supports the FDX format.
Good to know
The export uses the latest version of the script in your project.
Exporting the script does not modify the project in Filmustage.
You can export the script again after making changes.
