While 3-level sorting and Auto Day Breaks offer powerful tools for organizing your scenes automatically, the App also provides the flexibility to manually move your script scenes stips. This allows for nuanced adjustments and ensures your shooting schedule aligns perfectly with your vision.
Option 1: Drag and Drop Scenes
Procedure
Go to app.filmustage.com, and then open your project.
On the ribbon, go to the Scheduling tab.
Drag and drop the scene you'd like to reorder. To select and move multiple scenes at once, hold down the Command key on a Mac or the Ctrl key on Windows while selecting the scenes.
Option 2: Use the "Move to Scene" Feature
Procedure
Go to app.filmustage.com, and then open your project.
On the ribbon, go to the Scheduling tab.
Hover over the scene you want to move.
Click the icon with the vertical lines and arrow (next to the gear icon).
From the Move to Scene popup, select the target scene number from the dropdown list.
Click Move.
You'll notice the scenes reordering as you move them. Your manual sorting preferences will now be reflected in your shooting schedule.
Tip: If you want to skip the effort of manual sorting and let automation take over, try using the AI Scheduling Assistant that will automatically prioritize and organize your scenes based on your specific preferences.
Move to Boneyard
The Boneyard is a holding area for unused or temporarily removed scenes. Use this option when you’re not ready to schedule a scene but don’t want to delete it.
Procedure
Go to app.filmustage.com, and then open your project.
On the ribbon, go to the Scheduling tab.
Click the gear icon to open the actions menu.
Select Move to Boneyard.
The scene will disappear from the schedule but will remain accessible for future use.
Restore a scene from the Boneyard
Procedure
At the top of the Scheduling view, click on the Boneyard tab (next to Scriptyard).
Locate the scene you want to return to the schedule.
Click the gear icon next to the scene.
Select Move to Scriptyard (or directly drag it back, if enabled in your version).
Tip: If you need to create multiple versions of your shooting schedule, simply move unnecessary scenes to the Boneyard. After exporting your current version, you can bring those scenes back and create a new version — all within the same project, without duplicating or losing work.
