Lock in place pins a scene or a day break to its current position in the shooting schedule. Lock the items you have already committed to — a location you booked for a fixed date, a day break tied to a permit — so later reordering leaves them where they are.
You can lock and unlock from the Stripboard or the Calendar. Both use the same padlock control and act on the same schedule.

The padlock icon shows the current state:
Open padlock — the item moves freely.
Closed padlock — the item is pinned.
Selecting the icon switches between the two, so you unlock an item the same way you locked it. Scenes and day breaks are unlocked by default.
Lock an item in the Stripboard
Procedure
Go to app.filmustage.com, and then open your project.
On the ribbon, go to Scheduling → Stripboard.
Find the scene or day break you want to pin. On a scene strip, hover over the row to reveal the padlock. On a day break, the padlock is always visible.
At the left edge of the row, select the open padlock icon.
The padlock closes, and Filmustage keeps the item in position during any reordering.
Lock a scene in the Calendar
Scene blocks in the Calendar carry the same padlock, so you can pin a scene without switching views.
Procedure
On the ribbon, select Scheduling, and then select Calendar from the dropdown.
Find the scene block you want to pin.
Select the padlock icon on the block.
Filmustage locks the scene, and the change applies in the Stripboard as well.
What locking prevents
A locked item stays put through every kind of reordering, including:
Dragging it by hand, on its own or as part of a multi-select.
3-level sorting and Sort Items.
Dragging a whole shooting day to another date in the Calendar.
To move a locked item, unlock it first.
Note: Locking freezes position only. You can still edit a locked item — change its estimation, unit, location, or script day as usual.
Locks and exports
Filmustage keeps the lock state when you export your shooting schedule, so a locked strip stays locked in the exported schedule.
