Duplicate scene copies a scene strip and places the copy directly below the original in the Stripboard. Use it when the same scene is covered more than once — a second unit pass, a pickup, or coverage split across two shooting days.
Note: Duplicating affects your schedule only. Filmustage does not add a scene to your script, and the Script tab is unchanged.
Before you begin
Procedure
Go to app.filmustage.com, and then open your project.
On the ribbon, go to Scheduling → Stripboard.
Hover over the scene you want to copy.
On the right-hand side of the strip, select the gear icon (⚙️).
Select Duplicate scene.
Filmustage inserts the copy directly below the original and marks it with a copy label under the scene number.
What the copy carries over
The copy keeps the original's scene number, set heading, synopsis, page count, unit, shooting time estimation, script day, and shooting location. The shooting location may take a moment to appear.
The copy's page count and estimation count toward the shooting day totals, so the day break above it shows the higher figures.
Caution: The copy keeps the original's scene number, so two strips share the same number. The copy label under the number is the only thing that tells them apart. Check your exports, DOOD report, and call sheets to make sure the two are distinguishable.
Edit or remove a copy
Edit a copy's estimation and location directly in the strip, the same way as any other scene.
The copy's gear menu does not include Edit Schedule Item. Instead it offers Delete copy, which removes the copy and leaves the original in place.
