How to manage your shooting schedule

Written by Egor Dubrovsky

Filmustage provides a structured approach to building a shooting schedule by combining automation with customizable controls.

In the Stripboard view of the Scheduling tab, you have access to several options that help you adjust how your shooting schedule is displayed and organized. These include showing or hiding additional stripboard details, editing scene locations, and restoring the original scene order based on the script. These tools are useful for keeping your schedule clear, personalized, and easy to work with.

Before you begin

Procedure

  1. Go to app.filmustage.com, and then open your project.

  2. On the ribbon, go to Scheduling → Stripboard.

  3. In the upper-right corner of the stripboard, select the gear icon (⚙️) to open the menu.

    Available Options

    • Edit Locations: Opens a quick-access interface to assign or update scene locations.

    • Original Order: Reverts the stripboard to the original script scene order.

    • Show Synopsis: Toggles the scene synopsis visibility.

    • Show Character: Toggles the display of characters and cast IDs in each strip.

    • Show Script Day: Toggles the script day column in each strip. See Set the script day for a scene.

    Show Tags

Toggle visibility for individual tag categories. Each toggle adds or removes a colored badge for that category on every scene strip, for example:

    • Extras

    • Props

    • Set Dressing

    • Location Details

    • Special Effects

    • Camera

    • Sound

    • Costumes

Caution: Returning to the original order removes all manually added day breaks and banners. You cannot undo this action.
