The Assign Unit option in the Scheduling tab allows you to designate which production unit is responsible for shooting each scene. This is useful when working with multiple units, helping you manage parallel shoots, divide responsibilities, and improve on-set logistics.

Before you begin

Procedure

  1. Go to app.filmustage.com, and then open your project.

  2. On the ribbon, go to the Scheduling tab.

  3. Locate the scene you want to assign to a specific unit.

  4. In the Assign Unit column, click the dropdown menu next to the scene.

  5. The Assign Unit panel will appear, displaying existing units and customization options.

Assign a Unit

  1. Click on the already created unit name (e.g., “Night Unit” or “2”) to assign it to the selected scene.

  2. The assigned unit will now appear in the Assign Unit column for that strip.

Create a Custom Unit

  1. In the Assign Unit panel, click Add New Unit at the bottom.

  2. The Create Unit window will open.

  3. Type the name of the new unit.

  4. Click Create Unit.

The new unit will be added to the list and will be available for assignment immediately.

Update or Delete an Existing Unit

  1. In the Assign Unit panel, click the pencil icon 🖉 next to any existing unit.

  2. The Update Unit window will open:

  3. To rename the unit:

    • Edit the unit name in the text field.

    • Click Update Unit to save changes.

  4. To delete the unit:

    • Click Delete Unit.

    • Confirm when prompted.
