How to add frames to a scene storyboard manually or using AI

Filmustage offers two ways to create frames for a scene: manually or using AI to generate them automatically from the scene text.

Start from Scratch

Use this option to create blank frames and fill them in yourself.

  1. Go to app.filmustage.com, and then open your project.

  2. In the top navigation bar, click Storyboards.

  3. From the scenes list on the left, select a scene.

  4. Under Create Frames, select the number of frames and click Create Frames.

Empty frames are added to the scene. You can then write a description and add camera notes to each frame manually.

Use AI Assistance

Use this option to let AI generate frame descriptions automatically based on the scene text.

  1. Go to app.filmustage.com, and then open your project.

  2. In the top navigation bar, click Storyboards.

  3. From the scenes list on the left, select a scene.

  4. Under Create Frames, click Generate Frames and select one of the following:

    • Description only β€” generates frames with written descriptions only, at no coin cost.

    • Fast generation β€” generates frames with descriptions and AI reference images. The coin cost is shown on the button before you confirm.

The frames are created and appear below the scene header. You can edit the description and camera notes on any frame after generation.

Plans

Description-only frame generation is available on all plans, including Free. Fast generation of AI frame images requires a Director's Cut plan. Detailed generation is coming soon.
