What are Storyboards

An overview of the Storyboards tab — create frame-by-frame visual references for your scenes, with or without AI

Storyboards let you build visual shot references for any scene directly inside your project.

For each scene, you can create frames manually or generate them from the scene text using AI. Once frames exist, you can generate actual images in a cinematic style of your choice — setting mood, atmosphere, and visual tone, and optionally attaching reference photos of your cast and props.

What you can do

  • Build frames manually or generate them from scene text with AI.

  • Set mood, atmosphere, visual style, and drama level per scene.

  • Choose from genre presets: Noir, Drama, Thriller, Comedy, Horror, Romance, Action, SciFi.

  • Upload a style reference image to guide the visual look.

  • Attach reference photos of actors, props, and locations — AI incorporates them into the generated images.

  • Add camera notes to each frame.

  • Export the storyboard to PDF.

Where to find it

  • In the top navigation bar, click Storyboards.

Plans

Frame creation and AI-generated frame descriptions are available on all subscription plans, including Free. Generating actual AI images requires a Director's Cut plan. The coin cost per frame is shown on the button before you confirm.

Note: Detailed generation feature is coming soon in future updates of the App.
