Copy tags to other scenes

How to copy tags to multiple scenes from the Summary tab or the Reports tab

Written by Egor Dubrovsky

In the Summary tab or the Reports tab, you can copy one or more tags to multiple scenes in a single operation. Filmustage adds the tags to the chosen scenes without affecting existing tag assignments β€” the operation is additive.

Before you begin

Option 1: Copy from the Summary tab

Use this option when you have a specific source scene open in the Breakdown Summary and want to copy its tags into other scenes.

Procedure

  1. Go to app.filmustage.com, and then open your project.

  2. On the ribbon, go to the Summary tab.

  3. On the left, from the scene list, select the source scene that contains the tags you want to copy.

  4. In the Breakdown Summary, point to a tag and select the checkbox to the left of its name.

  5. Repeat for any additional tags. Checkboxes appear across all categories, so you can select tags from different categories in one operation.

  6. In the toolbar above the categories, select Copy to Scene(s).

  7. In the Copy to Scene(s) window, do the following:

    • Optional. In the Search scenes... box, enter a scene name to filter the list.

    • Select the checkboxes next to each scene you want to copy the tags to.

  8. Select Copy.

Filmustage adds the selected tags to each chosen scene. Existing tags in those scenes remain unchanged.

Option 2: Copy from the Reports tab

Use this option when you start from the script-wide tag table rather than from a specific scene.

Procedure

  1. Go to app.filmustage.com, and then open your project.

  2. On the ribbon, go to the Reports tab.

  3. On the left, select the tag category you need.

  4. In the tag table, select the checkboxes next to the tags you want to copy.

  5. In the toolbar above the table, select Copy to Scene(s).

  6. In the Copy to Scene(s) window, do the following:

    • Optional. In the Search scenes... box, enter a scene name to filter the list.

    • Select the checkboxes next to each scene you want to copy the tags to.

  7. Select Copy.

Filmustage adds the selected tags to each chosen scene. Existing tags in those scenes remain unchanged.

Note: Both options produce the same result. Your choice depends on where you start. The copy operation is additive: Filmustage never removes or replaces tags that already exist in the chosen scenes.
