Change a tag's category

How to change a tag's category in the Summary tab or the Reports tab

Written by Egor Dubrovsky

In the Summary tab or the Reports tab, you can move one or more tags to a different category in a single operation.

Caution: Moving Cast tags to another category permanently removes their Cast IDs. You cannot undo this action.

Before you begin

Option 1: Change category from the Summary tab

Use this option when working scene-by-scene in the Breakdown Summary.

Procedure

  1. Go to app.filmustage.com, and then open your project.

  2. On the ribbon, go to the Summary tab.

  3. On the left, from the scene list, select the scene that contains the tag.

  4. In the Breakdown Summary, point to a tag and select the checkbox to the left of its name.

  5. Repeat for any additional tags. Checkboxes appear across all categories, so you can select tags from different categories in one operation.

  6. In the toolbar above the categories, select Change Category.

  7. In the Change Category window, from the Select target category... dropdown, select the new category.

  8. Select Apply.

Filmustage moves the selected tags to the new category.

Option 2: Change category from the Reports tab

Use this option when working with the script-wide tag table.

Procedure

  1. Go to app.filmustage.com, and then open your project.

  2. On the ribbon, go to the Reports tab.

  3. On the left, select the tag category you need.

  4. In the tag table, select the checkboxes next to the tags you want to move.

  5. In the toolbar above the table, select Change Category.

  6. In the Change Category window, from the Select target category... dropdown, select the new category.

  7. Select Apply.

Filmustage moves the selected tags to the new category.

Note: To change the category of an individual tag by editing it, see Edit a tag.
