What is Team Chat

What Team Chat is and how your team communicates inside Filmustage.

Written by Egor Dubrovsky

Team Chat is the built-in messaging space where you and your team members talk inside Filmustage, without switching to another tool. Conversations stay next to the production work they refer to.

How Team Chat works

Team Chat is tied to your team. Everyone you add through Team Access can use it, and new team members join your team chat automatically once they accept your invitation.

Messages are delivered in real time. You can see when a teammate is online and when someone is typing.

  • To open Team Chat, go to the Team Access panel and select Team Chat.

Chat types

Team Chat groups your conversations into four types:

  • Saved Messages β€” a private space for your own notes. Only you can see it, and it stays at the top of the list.

  • Team chat β€” one shared room for your whole team. Every team member belongs to it.

  • Group chats β€” named rooms for a selected group of team members.

  • Private chats β€” one-on-one conversations with a single team member.

Teams you own appear under My Team. Teams that invited you appear under Shared with me.

Who can do what

The team owner and team members have different abilities:

  • The team owner can create group chats, rename rooms, add or remove members, and clear a room's history.

  • Team members can start private one-on-one chats with other members.
