Images let you place a reference photo anywhere on the script page on the Script tab — a location scout shot, a costume board, or a prop reference. Unlike highlights or comments, an image is not tied to specific words: you place it wherever you want.
Note: Images are annotations. They sit on top of the script, do not change the script text or your tags, and do not use Dude Coins.
Before you begin
Open a project that already has a script uploaded.
Open the scene you want to annotate.
Prepare the image file you want to place on the page.
Note: Filmustage supports PNG, JPG, GIF, and WEBP files. An image must be under 10 MB and under 25 megapixels — about 5000 × 5000 pixels.
Add an image
Go to app.filmustage.com, and then open your project.
Go to the Script tab.
On the annotation toolbar, select Image. Filmustage opens the file browser.
Select an image file from your computer.
Click where you want the image, or drag to place it at the size you want.
Filmustage adds the image to your active layer.
Move, resize, or rotate an image
Move: drag the image to a new position.
Resize: drag any corner or edge handle.
Rotate: drag the round handle above the image. The image rotates to any angle, with 1° precision.
Tip: Hold Shift while rotating to snap to exact 15° steps. Press "G" to switch to the Image tool from the keyboard.
Delete an image
On the toolbar, select Select.
Select the image, and then select the trash icon to delete it.
Filmustage removes the image from the layer immediately, without confirmation.
Include images in an exported PDF
Images and other annotations appear in an exported PDF only when you select Include annotations in the Export dropdown. See Export script to PDF.

Images are available on all plans, including Free.
