Export your schedule

How to export your shooting schedule in various formats: MMSX, SEX, XLSX, or PDF

Written by Egor Dubrovsky

In the Stripboard view of the Scheduling tab, you can export your shooting schedule in different formats to match your production workflow. Whether you need to continue work in Movie Magic Scheduling (via MMSX for Movie Magic 10+ or legacy SEX for 5/6), analyze your schedule in Excel, or share a printable PDF with your team β€” exporting is quick and flexible.

Before you begin

Procedure

  1. Go to app.filmustage.com, and then open your project.

  2. On the ribbon, go to Scheduling β†’ Stripboard.

  3. In the upper-right corner, click the Export button.

The export format options will appear:

Available Export Formats

  • MMSX (Movie Magic 10+)
Native export for Movie Magic Scheduling 10+. Provides full compatibility with the current Movie Magic format β€” ready to open and continue work without conversion. Saves as .MMS10.

  • SEX (Movie Magic 5/6)
Legacy export for older Movie Magic Scheduling versions (5 and 6). Saves as .MMS.

  • XLSX (Excel, Google Sheets)
Generates a spreadsheet version of your stripboard. Use it to create reports, apply filters, or collaborate in tools like Excel or Google Sheets.

  • PDF
Creates a clean, printable PDF β€” ideal for distributing to your cast, crew, or production managers.

Tip: Before exporting, make sure your strip order, day breaks, units, and locations are finalized. Everything currently displayed will be reflected in the export file.
